At IKAD Engineering, we’re offering an opportunity for a Workshop Supervisor – Fabrication to join our team in Henderson and take ownership of workshop operations across a range of fabrication projects. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who can lead from the front, coordinate teams and deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.

You’ll be responsible for supervising workshop activities, coordinating fabrication works and ensuring projects are delivered to IKAD’s quality and safety standards. We’re looking for a strong leader with a fabrication background who can balance safety, productivity and quality in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Supervising trades, subcontractors and labour hire teams and providing feedback
  • Providing technical support and direction to employees
  • Coordinating, scheduling and delivering daily works in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Managing suppliers, subcontractors and negotiating best possible rates
  • Monitoring productivity, project progress and identifying improvements
  • Ensuring all work meets quality, budget and schedule requirements
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Planning and scheduling project timelines and supporting variations
  • Ensuring welding activities are conducted in accordance with WPS requirements
  • Managing welding consumables in line with manufacturer and procedural requirements
  • Liaising with QAQC to ensure all inspections and NDT requirements are met
  • Conducting surveillance checks of the storeroom
  • Preparing reports on project progress, issues and solutions
  • Leading and maintaining HSEQ compliance across all workshop activities

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a fabrication/workshop environment
  • Trade qualification (Boilermaker / Fabrication preferred)
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of HSEQ systems, policies and procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding requirements
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Sound computer literacy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • WA C-Class Driver’s Licence
  • Physically fit and able to be hands-on when required
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

Desirable

  • First Aid Certificate
  • CSWIP 3.0 / 3.1 (or equivalent)
  • HRWL (Forklift, Dogging/Rigging, EWP)
