We’re offering an opportunity for a Leading Hand – Fabrication to join our team in Henderson and support the day-to-day coordination of workshop activities.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone ready to step up, lead a crew and support delivery of projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You’ll be responsible for supporting the Supervisor and overseeing daily activities within the Mechanical team to ensure work is delivered safely and efficiently. We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Leading Hand who can lead by example and support a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising trades, apprentices and subcontractors
  • Providing guidance, support and technical assistance
  • Assisting in the training and development of apprentices
  • Taking direction from the Supervisor and leading the crew independently
  • Ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to scope
  • Ensuring measuring and testing equipment is identified, calibrated and fit for use
  • Ensuring correct PPE is used and safety requirements
  • Promoting and maintaining strong HSEQ compliance
  • Ensuring materials and equipment are correctly identified, handled and stored
  • Monitoring work to ensure it meets company standards and specifications
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe environment

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role or step-up position
  • Proven ability to supervise and manage personnel
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Compliant with Fitness for Work requirements
  • WA C-Class Driver’s Licence
  • Willingness to work in remote locations when required

Desirable

  • First Aid Certificate
  • HRWL (Forklift, Dogging/Rigging, EWP)
  • Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights tickets
