IKAD Engineering awarded an MSRA for the US Navy
Perth-based engineering company IKAD Engineering has secured a Master Ship Repair Agreement (MSRA) for the US Navy.
This is a significant award, given only three Australian companies have been awarded a contract like this.
The agreement will cover work across Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific and Indian Ocean regions.
Ivan Donjerkovich, Managing Director, said, “We have been sustaining Australian Navy ships in Australia and overseas since 2006, and look forward to continuing this type of work for our ally.”
The work will include craft repair and overhaul work, as well as a non-complex work on Navy ships, including Restricted Availabilities (RAV), Technical Availabilities (TAV), Voyage Repairs (VR), craft overhauls and dockside repairs, and selective shipboard component repairs.
“Being awarded this agreement further cements our ability to deliver premium services to the Defence sector,” said Mr Donjerkovich.
IKAD has extensive capability and experience in heavy mechanical engineering for the Defence sector, including gearboxes and propulsion systems, as well as other ship systems, such as propellers, clutches, thrusters, stabilisers, elevators, steering and HVAC.
“This contract is an opportunity to showcase our skills – and shine the spotlight on WA/Australian businesses.”
